World of Crime Fiction

Crime Fiction can be described by many as a distinct genre. I, for one, fell in love with it during my middle school years. One thing I had come to learn over the years was that the genre itself also has several sub-genres. One of my favorite original authors of murder mysteries and other crime-style books is Edgar Allen Poe. An esteemed author who published several works during the early 1800s. He is most known for his style of writing short stories. Some of these include short murder mysteries and detective stories. When starting to write my first group of short stories, I took inspiration from many of Poe’s original stories. One important factor to keep in mind when writing is how to master the art of storytelling. As a young and still inexperienced author, I take into account how each of my books tells a certain story. Why True Crime

True Crime Enthusiast

At heart, I’ve always been a true crime lover. Since I was a kid, I have always loved to throw on a good true crime documentary or podcast and listen for hours. Many of those documentaries helped to brighten my inspiration for writing my crime fiction stories. Using that bit of inspiration helped me to hone in my writing and storytelling skills. As a young self-starting author, I think it’s important to build upon that when you start writing. Whether it’s your first novel, a novella, or even a short story. The ability to be a good storyteller can have a lasting effect on the reader who might pick up your book in a bookstore somewhere and decide this is the book for me.
